Found another secret cabin today. It’s in the Hamilton Mt. area inside Beacon State Park over in Wa. Parked up above Beacon State Park inside the GPNF and avoided Washington’s lame Discovery Pass baloney.
I will say this for the Discovery Pass, it sure keeps the hordes off the trails. Saw 2 cars parked at the Equestrian TH, which looked like they both had DP’s. When I was on my return leg of the hike I saw 2 folks walking a dog and a couple of ill prepared looking hikers walking up to the first junction. Got back to the Horsey TH and looked like I saw the illing coouple’s ride with a crumpled up fake DP. I ended up seeing the dog walkers later as I was driving down Kueffler with no cars parked so I guess they either lived really close or parked at the lower TH…
2400′ and 10 miles
Cool! I had no idea that there were hidden ‘treasures’ like that around Hamilton.
Me either until I saw a report by romann on PH a few weeks ago…
Where was the electricity being stole from?
Being stoled from the dam down below maybe?
Hey, nice TR and site!
I thought you didn’t find the cabin, since you mentioned on PH being there but no report
My new guess it was built to establish homestead? We’ll never know for sure.
Hey Romann, thanks!
I just didn’t make another TR for basically the same
TR you made over on PH, but yeah, I did find it after
a bit of a go of it as you can see on the tracks. Would be way easier to find going up from the power lines and there is some flagging going up too. I came down what looked to be a old logging road, went right to the cabin eventually but I had to get onto the correct ridge first…
